Breakthrough Breast Cancer is the leading charity committed to fighting breast cancer through research and education and has established the UK's first dedicated breast cancer research centre, in partnership with The Institute of Cancer Research.
Breakthrough's scientific work ultimately aims to eradicate breast cancer by discovering the causes of the disease, finding methods of prevention and developing new treatments, with results being translated into help for patients. Breakthrough also campaigns for improvements in healthcare services.
CAFOD works alongside some of the world's poorest communities regardless of race or religion. Our priorities are supporting those affected by conflict, fighting the root causes of poverty, building sustainable livelihoods and combating HIV and AIDS.
We also provide emergency relief to communities affected by disasters, staying long after the media have left. Working with local partner organisations in over 50 countries, CAFOD provides help where and when it's most needed, with low administration costs.
Every five minutes someone in the UK has a stroke. A stroke doesn't discriminate. It can happen to anyone at any time of their life. Strokes are sudden and their consequences can be devastating. The Stroke Association is the only national charity solely concerned with helping everyone affected by stroke. Our mission is to prevent strokes, and reduce their effect through providing services, campaigning, education and research. Stroke shatters lives: your legacy could help rebuild them.
RNID is working to change the world for the UK's 9 million deaf and hard of hearing people. Apart from providing information and raising awareness of deafness, hearing loss and tinnitus, we develop equipment and products for deaf and hard of hearing people, offer communication services including sign language interpreters, and provide care services for deaf and hard of hearing people with additional needs. We also support deaf people into work and lobby for lasting change in education for deaf children and young people.
The RNLI provides a 24-hour lifesaving service around the UK and the Republic of Ireland. Our volunteer crews are people from all walks of life who give up their time to carry out rescues in difficult and dangerous conditions.
The work of our lifeboat crews - along with the provision of the best possible boats, equipment and training to ensure their safety - relies entirely upon your generosity. An astonishing six out of ten lifeboat launches are only made possible because of legacy gifts. Your support is vital in training and equipping our volunteer lifesaving crews.
The Blue Cross is Britain's pet charity, providing practical support, information and advice for pet and horse owners. Through its network of 11 animal adoption centres it rehomes thousands of dogs, cats and other small animals every year. Many of those it takes in are unwanted, some are strays and a few are much-loved pets whose owners have passed away. Whatever the animal's background, it works hard to match each one to the right owner, resulting in happy homes.
Age Concern supports all older people in the UK, ensuring they get the most from life. Working locally and nationally, we provide essential services such as day centres and information. We campaign on issues like age discrimination, influencing public opinion and government policy about older people.
Gifts in Wills are vital to our work - representing over a third of our annual income from donations - and the need for our services will increase dramatically with a rapidly ageing population.
Leave Barnardo's a lasting legacy and help transform children's lives.
Barnardo's believes in children, no matter who they are, what they have done or what they have been through. We will support them, stand up for them and bring out the best in them. We work directly with over 115,000 children in 394 local projects.
By leaving us a gift in your Will you will give these children the chance of a better childhood - far into the future.
